Description

Tecnargilla 2018 (Rimini) will see the active participation of CRIT and SACMI, organizers of the event “The DREAM Project told by its actors – A leap forward in ceramic manufacturing”.

The seminar, held in Sala Ravezzi 2, aims at illustrating the results achieved so far within the DREAM project (Design for Resource and Energy efficiency in ceramicKilns).
The research activities will be discussed and investigated directly by the people involved in the project, and will include:

  • Residual stresses in ceramic tiles
  • New cogeneration systems
  • New heat exchangers
  • Pollutant reduction techniques
  • New refractories and coatings for thermal insulation and reduction of chemical aggression.

Free entrance.

Funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 program, the project was born with the aim of creating concrete advantages for all industrial sectors having a “furnace department”.

Leader of the project – worth € 5 million and lasting three years – is Sacmi,  the world’s leading supplier of machinery and plants for the ceramic industry. The project, focused on the study of the research topics listed above, was based on 4 specific objectives:

  • To design innovative hardware furnace components improving energy efficiency
  • To introduce substantial improvements on current hardware-software kiln parts
  • To demonstrate the DREAM solutions in a variety of industrial settings
  • To pave the way for a full seizure of DREAM related market opportunities

CRIT is partner of the project from both a technological point of view, contributing to the definition of the state of the art of some of the technology of interest, and regarding the management and the diffusion of the results reached the years.
