Eco-innovating an industrial process with the support of a European project

Event description

The conference will aim to present the results obtained in the context of the European project Life + HPRS (High Pressure Resination System) and to stimulate technology transfer activities between the subjects involved in the project with the companies of the Emilia-Romagna region.

The project, coordinated by IMAL, company from Modena active for over 40 years in the field of wood-based panels, has led to the design and development of a mixing process based on an innovative resin application technology, capable of drastically reducing the use of glues, the environmental impact, energy consumption and the costs of the entire wood panel production process. At the base of this innovation there is a new type of variable opening spray nozzles, which allows a homogeneous and high pressure distribution of the resins.

The HPRS project was implemented through the collaboration of a group of 4 partners, lasted 30 months and was co-funded by the European Commission under the LIFE + Program (LIFE12 ENV / IT / 000307).
