The Virtual Reality has consolidated over time its role as an indispensable tool for user involvement in the collaborative design of complex objects and systems, for the planning, simulation and optimization of industrial processes, for the virtual training of the operator in an environment virtual, immersive and realistic, and last but not least, for Human Centered Design and ergonomic studies.

In the context of the new tools related to Digital Manufacturing, Virtual Reality is one of the key technologies for implementing the Smart Factory, thanks to Virtual Engineering techniques that allow a highly realistic simulation, thanks to the ever closer collaboration between the physical world and virtual world. The virtual replication of the physical world allows, in fact, to plan products and processes in an optimal manner and to develop adaptive solutions that make modern production systems flexible, even before they are realized, with a great saving in terms of time and costs and a increased productivity.

The purpose of the meeting is to demonstrate the potential of a series of new technologies applied to some case studies and to present the skills and tools available to the VipLAB Laboratory of the INTERMECH MO.RE center. on the following topics:

  • Industrial Design
  • Virtual Engineering
  • Human Factors and Ergonomics
  • Digital Manufacturing
